Hednesford’s Christmas lights switch-on promises a fantastic night
Hednesford’s annual Christmas lights switch on is all set for Friday, December 7, with a fun-filled line-up of family entertainment.
The event is from 5pm with Market Street closed from 1pm to 9.30pm.
The event is funded by Hednesford Town Council and this year Hednesford in Partnership, an umbrella organisation which brings together groups including Heart of Hednesford, Hednesford Traders and Friends of Hednesford Park, has also supported the night and helped organise the festivities.
Cannock Chase Radio is also backing the night and volunteers will attend to help with the logistics of the road closure and crowds expected.
As usual with the festive celebrations, there’s a double chance to win as part of Hednesford’s run up to Christmas this year.
Shopkeepers can compete for the chance to triumph in a best dressed window competition while children in the town can take part in a colouring contest with a festive theme.
Hednesford Town Council Chairman, Councillor Alan Pearson, said: “Thanks to the people of Hednesford this is always a great night. A special thank you goes to the many volunteers who give up their time to make the night a great one for supporting local traders.”
