New Bleed Kits installed in Hednesford

Two more bleed control kits have now been installed in Hednesford.  One is situated at St. Peter’s Church and the other at The Pavillion in Hednesford Park.

After the life saving potential of the Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kits was brought to the attention of Hednesford Town Council, they have sponsored the installation of the two additional kits this week. 

The first bleed control kit, located outside of Hednesford Library was kindly donated by a local resident and has been in situ since September 2021. The potential to save lives is what inspired this campaign, and the installation of these kits significantly improves the first aid provision in our town.

The details of the bleed control kits are logged with the emergency services.   In case of an emergency, the caller will be informed of the location of the nearest kit and given instruction on how to use it. Housed in secure cabinets, the kits can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The exterior of the cabinet displays information on how to access the kits, alongside clear instruction for use.

Bleed control kits are designed to help prevent catastrophic blood loss.  There are many ways a catastrophic bleed can occur, such as a car accident or a work related injury.  Having these publicly accessible bleed control kits in our town, enables any member of our community to provide the necessary first aid to reduce blood loss until professional medical help arrives.  Controlling the bleed saves lives. These kits could potentially save lives in our town!
