VE Day
May 8th was the 76th anniversary of VE Day, 1945 was the day when Germany surrendered, bringing the Second World War to a close in Europe. On this day we celebrate the end of the Second World War, but also reflect on the conflict and remember and thank all those involved for their service in protecting the nation and for the sacrifices they made.
This day is usually celebrated with parades, street parties and concerts. However, given the current Covid-19 restrictions many events have been postponed for a second year. To mark this event Hednesford Town Council arranged for a bugler to play the last post as a show of respect.
