Hednesford Town Council chairman pays tribute to long-standing predecessor
The new chairman of Hednesford Town Council, Councillor Paul Woodhead, has thanked his predecessor Alan Pearson for his hard work on behalf of the council and residents.
After being elected as chairman with Cllr Robin Kingston as vice chairman, Cllr Woodhead said: “I’d like to place on record our thanks as a new council for all of Alan’s hard work over the years for Hednesford. He has been a loyal servant to the town over many years with the sincere interests of the people of Hednesford at heart.”
Former Councillor Pearson said he was grateful to have served as chairman and wished all of the new councillors well for the future.
Councillor Woodhead was instrumental in forming the independent group Hednesford Residents and Volunteers: Community First. They say they are looking forward to ushering in a new era for the town following an historic election win.
Winning nine of ten seats on Hednesford Town Council in the May 2nd elections, the group say they formed to offer the people of the town an alternative to political party candidates, with a community-driven focus at the heart of their campaign.
